Hi... welcome to Gay Choruses, a tribe where chorus members from all over the world can share resources, stories, ideas, photos, and much more. Hopefully we can grow this tribe to be something useful... so get the word out!

Hey! Which Chorus do you sing with? Were you just in Montreal for GALA?

I'm with the Chicago Gay Men's Chorus... and yes I was in Montreal! I had an amazing time! Who are you with?

I am a baritone with New Wave Singers of Baltimore. We are the mixed chorus in town. Our mens chorus still exists but is no longer a GALAchoruses member. I have been singing with NW for about 9 years.

I did go to Montreal but because of $$ I could only stay about 3 days. I totally want to go back tho. I remember hearing the Melomen from Paris sing on the street corner outside the restaurant where we all had lunch. It was magical.

It is so exciting to meet all these people from these other choruses. England, Ireland, Australia, Seattle, LA, Dallas ... and I have to admit that the "scenery" at GALA functions is not bad either.

What chorus are you with and what are you guys doing? We are having a fall concert in a few weeks with a lot of music about nature. Our goal is to memorize the whole concert-it will be our 2nd completely memorized full concert. We are also interviewing directors.

    Hey!

I am Quentin from the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Chorus.

I am a Tenor Diva. *grins*

Didn't go to GALA, but hope to make the next one.

Formerly, I sang with Desert Voices in Tucson, AZ.

I am Tenor Section Rep and I am part of the ADC committee.

... I love being in a gay chorus. It's so varied. Poly folks and folks of color, str8 folks, trans folks of every persuasion, young gays, wiser gays...

    I just love it.

      Hey Quentin... thanks for joining!

It's been a while since we've had someone new here. The tribe is still in its infancy. But I agree totally with everything you said about choruses. It's a great mix of all ages, backgrounds, colors, shapes, sizes, and ideas. And we all have the same mission in mind... to make incredible music.

I saw Seattle in San Jose and in Montreal and they are definitely one of the best around. Hopefully you can make a future GALA because it's an amazing experience.

Hopefully we can get more people to join the tribe soon... but in the meantime, thanks for your note. :)

      See ya,

All Tenors are Divas first of all (yup, I'm one too!)

I am with Singing OUT! The Leasbian and Gay Chorus of Toronto.

Montreal was my first GALA experience, and I can honestly say it was life altering - such a sense of "oneness". And some of the music was amazing!

And I agree Seattle is something else.

I'm with the Triangle Gay Mens Chorus, based in Raleigh, Chapel Hill and Durham, NC.

      T1 diva/o here as well.

Our concert is November 20, we're calling it IN THE SPIRIT...some non-sec, some classic, some comedy, spirituals. It's going to be pretty amazing.

I did not get to go to GALA because of work issues and sadly to say that was the reason that I wanted to join the chorus in the first place. I love Canada.

      oy.

    Hey!
I'm Bryan Fetty and I sing with the North Coast Men's Chorus ( www.ncmchorus.org ) in Cleveland, Ohio. This is my fourth season with the chorus and it's been a real growing experience for me. I'm a first tenor with the chorus and I just became a member of our small ensemble group - The Coastliners. I have worked on several of the committees in the chorus (music, membership, strategic plan, marketing) and I'm always looking for new ideas to bring to the group and to share with others.

Hello - I'll go ahead and chime in - I sing with One Voice Mixed Chorus in Minneapolis/St. Paul (ovmc.org/) (largest mixed chorus in the U.S.) - I've sung with them for 18 seasons and sing with their smaller ensemble as well - Have been involved at various points with a million committees, served on the board, etc. etc. I love it - it's a lovely social outlet and allows me to sing every week. I just stumbled on to "Tribe" and am pleased to find a little chorus connection here as well as other fun groups! I'll be in Miami this summer for the GALA mini-conference too if anyone's heading there
