Holiday Shows?

Hey everyone... sorry for my lengthy absence. I promise to be more vigilant about posting around here.

So... how are your holiday shows going?

CGMC (www.cgmc.org) is doing "A Cowboy Christmas" this year and it promises to be a TON of fun. I was a little leery about it at first, but it's growing on me fast. Think Dolly Parton. Lots of Dolly Parton. You'll get the gist.

Windy City (http:www.windycitysings.org) is producing their latest CD, "A Windy City Christmas" and will be doing a concert with the same title. I can speak of WCGC and the Windy City Slickers' contributions to the show and say they'll be a good mix of great music. I am guessing the Unison (mixed chorus) will also be a good mix as well.

Share with the group... how are your shows coming along?

We don't do a Holiday show. Too much competition? Maybe -- I'm fine with it.

Our show is called Family Happens -- Feb. 4 and 11th.

... and I don't wanna be tenor section leader anymore... *gulp*

Why don't you want to be section leader any more?

Some of it has to with the personalities I am dealing with it which means I can't just get my music geek on. But I have to realize that even if I was getting my music geek on, people would look to me for technique and musical knowledge -- I need to get over myself, honestly.

But I can't help thinking how I would rather be an alto these days...

The North Coast Men's Chorus (Cleveland, Ohio) www.ncmchorus.org is ramping up for our concert - Tree Chic. It's starting to sound like a concert. The dancers have been rehearsing and we've recruited the local gay marching band to join us in a rousing arrangement of I Want a Hippopotamus For Christmas.
